*With E.ON Drive City Spot the price of your charging follows the electricity market. The subscription costs 229 DKK/month and you then pay the spot price + 25 øre per kWh. Average night price is based on the average of the last 12 months between 00:00 and 06:00 (Sep 2025 to Aug 2026). 0.68 DKK/kWh is the lowest observed hourly price, on average at the same time of the week across the whole year

The charging price (spot price + 25 øre) is calculated as the spot price from Nord Pool (DK2) + DSO (grid tariff C from Cerius) + TSO (Energinet tariff) + the state electricity tax + 25 øre/kWh added by E.ON

Follow the spot price and charge when the price is low

With E.ON Drive City Spot your charging price follows the spot price on the electricity market. The spot price changes hour by hour, so the time you charge your electric car can make a big difference to what you pay. If you can charge at night or at other times with low electricity prices, for example when a lot of wind power is being produced, you can take advantage of the cheaper hours.

With your City Spot charging subscription you can charge on E.ON Drive's public charging network in Denmark. This applies to regular charging in the city as well as fast and ultra-fast charging, so you can use the same charging subscription whether you charge close to your apartment or are on the move.

Follow the current charging price in the E.ON Drive Public app or see today's spot price here, and choose for yourself when it pays off best to charge.

What is the best charging solution when you live in an apartment?

When you have an electric car and live in an apartment without your own charging box, you depend on public charging in everyday life. That is why four things are especially important when choosing a charging solution for your electric car: how close you can charge, whether there are available chargers, what you pay for charging, and whether you can also charge when you are on the move.

These are four important needs that E.ON Drive City Spot is designed to meet: a new electric car subscription for you without your own charging box.

1. Charge close to your home

A good charging solution should fit into everyday life. With public chargers close to home you can charge your electric car while it is parked anyway, without your own charging box or home charger.

2. Availability is essential

It is not only the distance to the charger that matters. You also need to be able to charge when you need to. That is why it is not unimportant how many users there are on the network in your neighbourhood.

In the E.ON Drive Public app you can find chargers nearby and see their current availability, so you avoid going in vain.

3. Cheap charging

The price of charging matters a lot when you depend on public charging in everyday life. That is why it is an advantage to be able to follow the electricity price and choose the times when it is cheapest to charge. Until now this has only been possible to a limited extent with public charging. With City Spot it is now possible, especially for those looking for electric car charging in an apartment.

With E.ON Drive City Spot your charging price follows the spot price on the electricity market + 0.25 DKK/kWh. That means you can save money by optimising your charging and keeping an eye on the current spot price directly in the E.ON Drive Public app. When the spot price is low, you can choose to charge more cheaply. At night the spot price is often lower, so it can be an obvious time to charge your electric car while it is parked anyway.

4. Charging across Denmark

A good charging solution for apartment residents should not only work close to your home. It should also let you charge when you move around town or drive further away.

With E.ON Drive City Spot you can charge on E.ON Drive's public charging network in Denmark, both at regular city chargers and at fast and ultra-fast chargers when you are on the move. You also get access to one of the largest charging networks in Copenhagen and an extensive charging network in the rest of Denmark with more than 4,800 charging points.

5. Why pay for electricity you do not use?

With a fixed-price charging solution you can end up paying for consumption you do not actually have. With E.ON Drive City Spot you only pay for the electricity you actually use, in addition to the subscription. And because the charging price follows the spot price, you can help keep the price down by charging when electricity is cheap.

Frequently asked questions about charging subscriptions

How does a charging subscription work when you live in an apartment?

A charging subscription for apartment living can work entirely without a charging box at your own address. Instead, you charge the car at public chargers and pay according to the pricing model that applies to your subscription.

With E.ON Drive City Spot you pay 229 DKK per month and then the current spot price + 25 øre per kWh.

Can you charge an electric car in an apartment without your own parking space?

Yes. If you do not have a dedicated parking space at your home, you can charge at publicly available charging spots nearby. When charging an electric car without your own charging box, it is therefore particularly relevant to check where the chargers are located and whether they are free when you need them.

In the E.ON Drive Public app you can find E.ON Drive chargers nearby and see their current availability.

What does spot price + 25 øre per kWh mean?

The spot price is the market price of electricity and changes over time. With City Spot, a fixed surcharge of 25 øre per kWh is added on top of the spot price. The charging price (spot price + 25 øre) is calculated as the spot price from Nord Pool + DSO (grid tariff C from Cerius) + TSO (Energinet tariff) + the state electricity tax + 25 øre added by E.ON Drive.

When the spot price falls, your charging price falls too. In the period from September 2025 to August 2026, between 00:00 and 06:00, the average night price was 1.42 DKK/kWh.

If you charge at night or at weekends, when the load on the power grid is low and electricity is therefore cheaper, you can save a lot of money on charging your electric car.
