Frequently asked questions

When and how was E.ON Drive Infrastructure founded?

E.ON Drive Infrastructure was founded in 2022 by carving out the business entity responsible for investing in public charging infrastructure from the E.ON corporation. The new company was named “E.ON Drive Infrastructure” in reference to its business model and grew from 4 to 180 employees in less than 3 years.

What is E.ON Drive Infrastructure's relationship with the E.ON group?

E.ON Drive Infrastructure is part of the E.ON organization, benefiting from E.ON’s decades of energy expertise. Yet, the E.ON Drive Infrastructure team is organized in a separate legal entity to ensure independent and efficient operations.

Why are there two teams at E.ON using the E.ON Drive brand and what is the difference between the two?

E.ON Drive Infrastructure and E.ON Drive Solutions can be differentiated along three dimensions: 1. Target group: E.ON Drive Infrastructure is responsible for public infrastructure whereas E.ON Drive Solutions targets non-public B2C and B2B customers 2. Business model: as a charge point operator (CPO) E.ON Drive Infrastructure invests in, owns, installs and operates the infrastructure themselves. E.ON Drive Solutions is, among many other things, the e-mobility provider (EMP) who sells charging solutions to its customers (hardware, charge card, combined tariffs). 3. Organization: E.ON Drive Infrastructure has been carved out of the E.ON corporation and is managed independently. E.ON Drive Solutions remains part of the E.ON corporation.

Who is on the E.ON Drive Infrastructure management board?
