Frequently asked questions

Why do you place a reservation on my card, and why was money taken even though my session did not start?
We place a reservation on your card at the start of each session to confirm that there are sufficient funds. The reservation is replaced by the actual charging cost when the session ends. If the session does not start or is unsuccessful, the reservation is released within 1 to 3 working days.
What’s the difference between RFID cards / charging cards and contactless payment?
Charging cards are subscription-based cards provided by charging network operators (like hotel key cards). Contactless payment uses your credit or debit card to start charging without registration.
My payment card is being declined. What can I do?
We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Your card needs to have enough funds available for the reservation. If problems persist, please contact your bank.
How can I find pricing information for your charging stations?
The price for payment via weblink, QR code or payment terminal can be found at se.pay.edri.com. The price for direct payment (debit or credit card) is shown on the charger screen. If you use a charging card, please check your provider’s app or website for pricing details.
What are the payment methods for ad-hoc charging?
You can pay using contactless debit or credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Google Pay and Apple Pay), or via QR code/weblink payments.
Do I need to add a payment card?
Yes. A valid payment card is required before charging through the app.
- Open the app menu.
- Go to Payment Methods.
- Select Add Payment Method.
- Enter the card details and complete the bank verification.
- Return to the E.ON Drive Public app to finish the setup.
We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express in the app, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Please note: We place a reservation on your card when a session starts. The reservation is replaced by the actual cost when the session ends, and is released within 1 to 3 business days if the session does not start. Your card needs to have enough funds available for the reservation.
Can I pay directly at the charger without the app?
Yes. You can always pay directly at the charger's card terminal, without an app and without an account.
The terminals accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express, as well as Google Pay and Apple Pay contactless.
Please note: Receipts for terminal payments are retrieved from hyc.cash. If you paid with Apple Pay or Google Pay, the card number you need in the portal may be different from the number printed on your physical card.
Can I use my charging card / RFID card at E.ON Drive stations?
Yes, if your charging card is part of a roaming network supported by E.ON Drive, you can use it to start and stop charging sessions. Find our partners here.
Does E.ON Drive provide RFID / charging cards?
Yes. You can order a charging card directly in the E.ON Drive Public app under Charging card in the menu.
Can I use my account balance in the new app?
No. The new E.ON Drive Public app has no top-up balance. A balance is only used for promotional codes.
If you still have money left on your old charging account, you can use it in the old E.ON Drive app until 31 December 2026, when the app closes. Any remaining balance is then refunded by E.ON Drive AB from 1 January 2027.
How do I request a refund for a failed charging session?
If your session didn’t start or was interrupted, any pre-authorisation hold will automatically be released within 1 to 3 working days. If you were charged incorrectly, please contact our support team with your session details and payment method. We’ll review and process your refund promptly.
What should I do if I was charged twice?
Double charges are rare but can happen if multiple payment attempts were made. Please provide both transaction IDs to our support team. We’ll verify and refund any duplicate payment.
I have a remaining balance in the old E.ON app. Will it be paid out?
Yes. If you have money left on your old charging account, E.ON Drive AB starts the refund from 1 January 2027.
Make sure a valid, up-to-date payment card is linked to the old account. Check your card details in the old app by 31 December 2026.
Please note: If your last top-up was made before 1 June 2024, updating the card is not enough. E.ON Drive AB will then contact you by email with instructions on how to provide the bank details needed. Questions about the refund are handled by E.ON Drive AB on 0771-70 77 00 or emobility@eon.se.
Do roaming prices differ from direct payment prices?
Yes. When using a roaming card, your provider sets the final price, which may include additional fees. Direct payment prices are displayed on the charger screen and at our payment portal.
Is my payment data secure?
Absolutely. All transactions are processed through encrypted and PCI-compliant systems. We never store your full card details.
Do you support Plug & Charge (ISO 15118) or Autocharge?
Plug & Charge is available on all Alpitronic DC chargers across the majority of our network. It enables seamless charging with automatic authentication and payment via ISO 15118 - just plug in. Autocharge is not supported yet.
