One network, two brands
Outside the Netherlands, you pull up to a charger marked E.ON Drive. In the Netherlands it says Essent, with "Operated by E.ON Drive" on every charger.
The reason is straightforward. E.ON Drive is a young brand in the Netherlands; almost everyone knows Essent. Both of us are part of the E.ON Group, and each of us does what we do well. Essent is the customer-facing brand: marketing, communication and the charge card. E.ON Drive Infrastructure builds, owns, operates and maintains the network. We keep the chargers running.
Get 10 cent discount with the Essent charge card
With the Essent charge card or app you charge at a 10 cent per kWh discount. It applies at the Essent chargers in the Netherlands and at every E.ON Drive Infrastructure charging point across Europe: more than 9,000 points in 11 countries. Essent enters public fast-charging infrastructure
E.ON Drive Infrastructure is taking over BP's former fast-charging network and will partner with Essent to operate it. This expands Essent's energy services to include fast charging. The deal covers a total of 79 fast-charging sites with 370 charge points, instantly making Essent one of the largest providers of public fast charging in the Netherlands.
